Social media and content marketing coordinator

Ting Mobile is looking for a Social Media and Content Marketing Specialist to join the content and communications team.

Ideally, you have an interest in technology, smartphones… and maybe even US telecom. You understand the ins and outs of online communities and have the chops to be the voice of Ting on social media (Facebook, Twitter, reddit, Instagram, YouTube, etc).

You have some experience managing social for a brand. That said, we’re more interested in what you’ve done than exactly how long you’ve been doing it. Let’s talk about that.

You’re a self-starter armed with ideas and a general playbook for social media success. However, you recognize that the rules for social media are ever-evolving and the playbook is being rewritten every day.

You’ll bring sound social media and content marketing methodology and an analytical mindset (think content calendars and monthly reports) to help grow the smart, critical and hard-won communities Ting has built online. You’ll own Ting Mobile’s social presence and once you’re killing it there, there are opportunities to expand your reach to touch other Tucows brands as well.

About the role:
The Social Media and Content Marketing Coordinator is the face of Ting Mobile on social media. You’ll collaborate with the Content and Design teams to develop posts across all forms of online media that effectively promote content, marketing, product and support team initiatives. You aren’t afraid to share your opinion and are comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities. You’re excited to speak to both prospects and current customers alike. You’re ready to be on the front line of the Ting customer experience.

Breakdown:
40% - Serve and grow our social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, reddit, YouTube and more. Discover, create, schedule and boost content that honors and furthers Ting Mobile’s overall social and brand strategy.
30% - Work alongside content, marketing and product teams to assist with smartphone launches, blog posts, newsletters, marketing promotions and much more.
15% - Highlight new social engagement opportunities and partnerships that make sense for Ting Mobile. Report on successes and failures across social channels to help shape future recommendations.
15% - Monitor, assist and utilize the Ting Social Response Team. Share relevant information, delegate duties on social campaigns they will be involved in. Take point in a monthly strategy meeting to provide feedback and insight for responses, engagement ideas and more.

Education, Experience and Skills requirements

Must have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personally motivated and self-starting.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Analytical insight.
  • Native knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Experience managing social media for a brand.
  • College or University education - Areas of specific interest: Marketing, Communications, Journalism, that kind of thing.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with project management tools (we use Wrike).
  • Experience with online advertising platforms (AdWords, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc).
  • Experience with Social Media scheduling tools (we use SproutSocial.  Buffer, HootSuite, etc).
  • Experience with online forums and community management.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop/basic photo editing.
